Another Season Down the Drain

We are just barely past Christmas, and after a loss to the Canes last night, we need binoculors to see where teams are ( that are in a playoff positon ). And so I can proclaim with relative ease that it is another year of futility, and we can begin dreaming about 2011.

Brian Burke has failed yet again, but now these players are 100 % his players, and Ron Wilson is 100 % his coach, he hired Nonis, and Dave Poulin, and better scouts, we were told, and we just still suck.

No point in mincing words, we plainly have so little talent we couldn't get a pick up game with the Sisiters of the Poor.

So, thankfully the players have had this "aura of protetcion" since December the 14th, courtesy the Prez and GM, so that their families would be spared the mental anguish of a trade. Bull Patties, I do not believe that Burke has taken the fans into consideration, such a great boss to his players, gee guys you've earned it, playing so far under .500, you cannot see sea level.  Why ? What's the diff ?

Would it harm the Maple Leaf reputation if Burke made a deal before the NHL imposed deadline ? Likely not. Does Burke's demeanor become less demonic ???

Not that there is much to trade, but we are told "we have cap space", and willing to make use of it. Yet, no deals were made, is that because after going 4-0 to start the season, other GM's know Burke has fallen into panic mode. Boy, Burke's contract must be good , with a great parachute clause if they turf him early.

So another winter of discontent in Toronto.

I am so glad that Brian Burke last July proclaimed that as his official " 1st Day of the Real Season ", as he has traded off precious draft pix for Kessel.

But fans ! We have the vaunted Tyler Bozak, I think Bozak is nice kid, but he cannot play centre on any top 2 lines in the NHL.  He has no finish, he loses 75 % of the draws, and cannot get Kessel the puck.

No Nash, No Thornton, No Vinny LeCavilier, they all prefer to take deals before their Free Agent status comes up, and so Mr Burke, once again you have deluded yourself that the gobs of money from MLSE will help you add talent. It is just not happening.

At least we are not New Jersey, he'll say to himself....hahaha no, but being 3rd worst in the NHL is not enough to hang your hat on.  At least Ken King pushed Darryl Sutter off his perch, I wonder about Dave Nonis, could here do any better. Not bloody likely.

So watch the games if you are a masochist, but there are plenty of half decent reality shows that must be better watching material.
